Respect Is Out Of Love!

Khamosh Ae Dil! Bhari Mehfil Mein Chillana Nahin Acha
Adab Pehla Qareena Hai Mohabbat Ke Qareenon Mein

Silent, O Heart! Crying in the full assembly is not good
Decorum is the most important etiquette among the ways of Love

(Allama Iqbal, Bang-e-dara: 058)

Mohabbat. Love. MOHABBAT. How often we go around telling others we love them and how seldom do we mean it. You may say you mean it every time and that your heart is boundless in its capacity to love and that we love many people for their many different attributes. I would not nullify any of these arguments because yes heart is akin to an abounding vessel that gushes with love but that does not mean every next person you meet "is love <3."Love is when you are completely smitten with somebody and here steps in the element of respect. If you really love somebody you admire them, silently from a distance. You follow their movements ardently just like a moth chases a light, attentively. One would ask why are you required to be silent in the presence of your Love but isn't it obvious. If it isn't obvious then excuse my insolence for you haven't loved. If you did truly love then you would have cherished every moment in which you got to eye your object of affection. you would not have had the heart to ruin the image of serenity by intruding with your voice, your words. If you find it hard to understand then imagine yourself among magnificent, snow-capped mountains then would you have the impudence to break through the serenity with raucousness. Why? Because that picture is reminiscent of divinity and you do not want to corrugate it with your comparatively inferior existence. This is just a reminder for all the youth around us that if you really love somebody, then learn to respect them first because respect is the first step towards offering your affection. If you close your eyes, and you cannot imagine your beloved in all his glory then you haven't truly loved.
